Iowa City

The longer version:
When I talk about being a "4-D Dad", I'm talking about the most important role of my life, being a Dad (to two amazing children), and about the many other dimensions of who I am, who I am trying to be, and who I may someday become.
I am currently a student in the PhD program in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. I started the program in the fall of 2010. Academically speaking, I earned a Masters in Communication Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 2005, and taught an advanced broadcasting reporting course at Wartburg College (my alma mater) as well as several reporting, radio production, mass communication studies, persuasion, and introduction to communication courses at the University of Wisconsin. Currently I am teaching a section of a larger Reporting and Writing class at the UofI.
Professionally my background is in broadcast journalism. I have worked in radio in Waterloo, Iowa, Spencer, Iowa, and Galesburg, Illinois. In both Spencer and Galesburg I was the News Director. I have worked full-time in television in Mason City, Iowa (reporter, photographer, producer, assignement editor, anchor, editor all at various times), and part-time for a television station in Duluth, Minnesota. While all of my jobs have been small market and general assignment in nature, my areas of specialty include politics, courts & crime, and social issues.
