Media relations include ongoing activities to manage public opinion and influence behaviors. Media relations and public relations is critical to professional and collegiate athletics, because public opinion is directly related to public support. I am a student at the University of Oregon in the school of journalism and am interested in the relationships between professional and collegiate athletics, the media and its public. My interest in the subject was triggered shortly after I began to study public relations at the UO and landed my first job as a football administrative assistant for the Ducks.
