I've just moved from Ohio to Mérida, Spain, to teach English for 8 months. I went to school at Ohio University in Athens (GO BOBCATS!), and received my undergrad degree in English Lit and Spanish. I love to travel, meet new people, try new things and generally, live every moment for itself.

OH - and I should probably explain the title of the blog. Right before I left for Spain, some random person called me the 'spanish malibu barbie' after finding out my plans to move here. I chose to see the nickname as a joke. Therefore, the title is an ironic one. I actually loathe what the cultural icon represents, and if anyone called me that in seriousness, I would probably punch them in the babymaker. Yes, I do have blonde hair. Other than that, the unnaturally skinny, inexplicably perseverant doll & I have nothing in common. Just thought I would clear that up : )
