Amherst Ureiqn here, well I’m a self taught multi-media artist, writer [note: Pilipinong manunulat], internet addict and a rockstar wanna-be {:D}.
Kidding aside, I am a freelance graphic artist and video editor; able to 2D animations , AVP, flash animations, some sort of web css lay-out , audio engineering and non-linear editing. I was able to learn those skills when I was in college, in times we are in badly need of an editor in spite of having no money at all. Thus Amherst Ureiqn Studios was born.
I used to write Tagalog short stories way way back highschool, primarily about my pals , our imaginative classroom settings and some what-ifs. But it was changed when I got into college, I started to write full length Tagalog novels* which tackles some topic in a guy’s perspective. As long as I can remember, I’m comfortable writing in foreign tongue but I don’t know what got into me that made me reluctant doing so. Until recently it came to me why not open a blog account and conquer my fear and milk the site’s advantages.
* [that until now still unpublished…many publishing house got a their hands on the material, had some comments and promised to reproduce it…but until now, after so much hullabaloos, I ended up shelving it for future revisions---explanation in future posts]
Well, as of now I’m a research assistant in a government agency, part time High school proctor and college professor. I teach basic audio-video techniques and sorts and still looking for some more workloads so I can be ready pursuing masters / special class regarding my chosen field.
My other diversions are mobile photography , hanging out with friends, doing AVP for friends, pursuing some jobs that’s new to me, generate more money [joke] and belting out some Rob Thomas songs.
My influences are Steven Spielberg, Akira kurosawa, Miyazaki, Studio Gilbi, Chico Garcia [love that blog :D and their show Morning Rush], my father, Owl City, Eric Hutchinson, Rob Thomas, Norwegian recycling, Ramon del Prado, Dan Villegas , Francis Magalona, Ramon Bautista and some freakin’ monsters under my bed.
Born September 14, 1987, had my grade school in Mary Immaculate Learning Center, finished my high school in First City Providential College [batch 2004 | formerly FHLA / FHC ] and pursued Bachelor in Broadcasting in Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
