In her photography, Audrey McCroskey knows how to create and capture some of the most valuable moments from her subjects. She aims to make her viewers feel the emotion of her subjects through just a glance at her photographs. Audrey believes that less is more and that the simpler her photographers are, the more visual impact they will have.
Audrey’s work consists of taking someone from everyday life and stripping them of everything they are, but their raw emotion. She does not pose her subjects, but instead, let’s them sit and move in front of the camera until they are comfortable and natural. Using simple studio lighting and backgrounds, Audrey creates an environment and makes her images in black and white so the viewer will not be focused on anything except the attitude of her subjects.
In each photograph she makes, Audrey engraves her style, ideas, and compassion. She takes time to see things in others that many people do not. With this sight, she is able to create fine art images that show her subjects just as they are, no more no less. By creating these photographs, Audrey is able to state her point without using words.
