The universe brought me yoga over 10 years ago and my life has never been the same. My first teacher was an inspiration to me, the calm effortlessness with which she moved through life was beautiful, and I wanted her peace. While studying and practicing with her for five years I knew my purpose in life was to share the amazing gifts she had passed on to me. Yoga has made every aspect of my life more full as I have become more aware and present to learn, love, witness and grow as every day unfolds before me. Yoga has shown me the way to live a life that is rich and full, and in the times that we live, this can be an extremely difficult prospect for us as we rush to go to school, work, raise children, walk the dog, go shopping, make dinner, play our sports, remember our hobbies, see our friends, make time for our partners. Yoga takes us out of the endless business of our days and lives, and allows us to take time to be present, still and free. This is what Yoga has done for me, and I am eternally grateful to all of my teachers for sharing the teachings with me as I humbly begin to pass along what I have learned.
My first 200-hour teacher training certification was through Starseed Yoga & Wellness in Montclair, NJ. The owner Jyoti Chrystal was an amazing woman, who I was fortunate enough to practice with and learn from. Her yoga career included study with B.K.S. Iyengar and Alan Bates. I also have a 200 hour certification in Hot Vinyasa through Hot House Yoga and am certified in The Barkan Method Hot Vinyasa as well.
In addition to Yoga, I am certified in mat Pilates and have extensive experience with strength training, as well as Exercise Nutrition, which enables me to create tailored programs for each client's needs, strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes.
“No one is ever really taught by another; each of us has to teach himself. The external teacher offers only the suggestion, which arouses the internal teacher, who helps us to understand things." - Swami Vivekananda
