B. Rhodes
Billye Rhodes earned her BA in Fiction Writing/Black World Studies (Columbia College Chicago) and served in the Chicago public/charter schools for nearly 10 years before pursuing her MA/PhD in Education (The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.) Her research interests include Educational Sociology, Critical Race Theory, Black Feminism, Critical Ethnography and Critical Multicultural Education. A lover of art, teaching and proponent of community activism, she is the Founding Director of Sunflower Seeds Studio, NFP.
She thoroughly enjoys live performances, scrapbooking, family dinners, traveling and bike riding on Lake Michigan. She abides by this mantra: "Love is an absolute command for movement, justice: revolution. True artistry believes in this; we die for this. Any deviation is absent of truth."
