In spite of the erratic ups and (very frequent) downs of my condition, I have managed to complete both undergraduate and graduate studies in English and hold down jobs for years at a time. I’ve also had some monumental meltdowns that ended in self-harm (including suicide attempts). I’ve been in the hospital twice for overdoses and spent time on psych wards. You'd think I'd have it all figured out by now, but I'm currently in a state of seeming suspension, having moved back in with my parents after completing grad school and encountering a harder-than-expected time finding a job. I'm looking for purpose and meaning where it often eludes me, trying to locate my path and find a way to manage my symptoms once and for all. Maybe that's where this blog comes in.
