Barbara Z. Johnson has twenty years' experience in software development and information technology in both industry and academia. She has taught seminars and workshops in academic writing, web page authoring, and classroom technology integration. She has taught research methods courses to master's of education students and can occasionally remember how to spell SPSS, SAS, and regression.

Currently, she is a doctoral student in Teaching and Learning at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, studying the role of virtual worlds in informal learning of financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

She roleplays a Jedi Knight in Second Life under the name Christien Suntzu and a Celtic lynx in Gaia Online as christienjinn. See is a geek who is surprisingly good at appearing to be normal and who translates complex technology concepts into academic speak.
