I began writing professionally in 1992 for "Travel Weekly" newspaper and when I left the paper continued to freelance in my spare time, which became less and less. My work has appeared in a range of publications including -- "Family Medicine," "Unique Homes" and "NJ Savvy Living." My work also has appeared on ProseToad, ShopServe, DigitalCities and eHow websites. Although my career has shifted, evolved, changed -- pick one -- I've never stopped writing. But I no longer want writing to be something I do in my spare time. I finally finished a novel I started in my 20s and hope to see that published in 2012. I am working on a memoir and just this morning decided why not blog. And since I made that decision while I was at my dojo, I also decided I'd blog about karate and life and how karate continues to influence my life.
