<aboutMe>I am a lesbian, walking a spiritual pilgrimige, an exciting and frightening journey from inside the cocoon of my familiar identity closet to the fresh and free air of the paths of ’out’doors. I am a wife, recently, and happily, married to an amazing woman, the likes of whom I could not have dreamed possible until I encountered her, and us, in reality. I am a Catholic, wrestling with the darkness of our all-too-human institution while I keep my eyes fixed on what I think our church is really called to be, an embodiment of Christ’s unity, compassion, and love. I am a school teacher in a Catholic school system, walking a line of fear and hope as I risk losing it all, emerging from the cocoon, one person at a time.

This blog is about my journey to openness and to love, both for myself and for others. I write for the joy of writing, yes, but also with a gently-burning hope that my thoughts and experiences may touch upon something deep within others; thoughts and feelings unspoken or unrecognized. Should you feel welcomed into these pages (and I welcome you warmly, dear friend), you will find thoughts on everything from the spirituality of baking to the very real fears of coming out in systems where I am, as a Catholic lesbian teacher, unseen, unwelcome or, at times, reviled. I welcome you to walk with me as I learn to discern God’s call in this patchwork life that is my own. Peace and blessings.</aboutMe>
