My name is Linnie and I live in the mid sized city of Portland, Oregon with my lovely Pup Buttercup and my devilishly hunk of a boyfriend. I am a very outspoken, bubbly, always joking, the outdoors is my second home, granola hippie, showers twice a day kind of girl. Yes, I am a little bit of everything, but I think that makes life a little more fun and a lot less constricting, right?
Within the last year I have fallen madly in love with baking. Well, let me clarify that, not just baking but CUPCAKES. Sadly, I am one of those people who can bake like a champ but I fall pretty short when it comes to cooking. But, it works pretty well for me and my boyfriend. I bake and he cooks! It's a match made in heaven if I do say so myself. And luckily Buttercup loves both.
Last year I graduated college with a degree in Health. I was going to save the world one person at a time with Physical Therapy. But then, a week before I was about to submit my application for the Doctorate program I broke the news to my family that I wanted to become a baker.
With large amounts of support from my family and friends I set off to find my niche with baking. I got a job at a french bakery and quickly realized large production bakeries were not for me, and pastries just didn't have enough creative flair for me. After about 8 months getting up at 3am everyday I quit the bakery and set out working for myself!
I realized I wanted to make my own rules, and bake what I wanted to bake when I wanted to bake them. I started baking cakes and cookies and just didn't get that happy feeling I was looking for. Then, one day I decided to bake some cupcakes. And BAM I was in love!!!!! I have been baking cupcakes ever since.
