With nearly a decade of professional experience in copywriting, editing, proofreading, and research, I offer a diverse and extensive skill set in all types of written communication.
Experience highlights include freelance writing for financial services, retail, travel, lifestyle, and food industries. From lengthy technical discourse to quirky one-liners, my range of voice and adaptability to brand standards are the hallmarks of my success. Creating a company “story” isn’t enough to convey a brand message—it must be clear and engaging to create an impact on your business.
My background is in literature. I hold a B.A. in English from U.C. Berkeley and an M.A. in English and American Literature from Mills College. My graduate work focused on research in nineteenth-century early American literature and antebellum print culture. I’m represented by the John Talbot Literary Agency in New York City, and I have a creative non-fiction book proposal presently in the marketplace. The by-product of such training includes expertise in grammar, style, proofreading, research, and line editing, and these skills are currently being honed even further by way of the U.C. Berkeley Extension Writing Program. I have taught the following subjects at the middle school, high school and college level: English and American Literature, Poetry, SAT Preparation, and Writing Composition.
