Stepson of the late Sheila Evans (Dowdeswell) - former Wimbledon player and renowned professional tennis coach. Originally from Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) - educated at Prince Edward School. His 3 children - Nicola, Gareth and Stacey all won State tennis titles with Carmel High School. Des has coached at IRC since February, 2000.
