Eliot Shorr-Parks
Eliot has been a resident of Philadelphia for over 15 years, graduated with a degree in Sports Journalism from Temple University.
Project Manager for New City Community Press, his first book labeled “More Than A Game: Life Lessons from Philadelphia Sports”, was released by Temple University in the spring. The book features interviews with, among others, Leonard Weaver, Mike Richards, Sonny Hill, Rueban Amaro Jr, Joe Banner and Ed Rendell. Eliot has also begun work on the autobiography of Jim Ellis, subject of the major motion picture “Pride”, and founder of the famous PDR swim team.
The Central High graduate’s writing has appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Gcobb.com, and now can be found in the Daily Local in West Chester.
Eliot credits his father for his interest and strong background in journalism, and hopes to write about the up and downs of Philadelphia sports for the rest of his life.
