I was born in Cyprus, bred in Lusaka (Zambia) and Johannesburg (South Africa), schooled in Nicosia (Cyprus) and continued on to further studies, culinary art expeditions, and work in Lausanne (Switzerland), London (UK), York (UK), Paris (France), and London (UK) again before taking the next step to Montreal. Throughout, I have always contrasted one city to the next: "London's parks are beautiful, but it doesn't have Cyprus' sunny laid back atmosphere"; "Paris has something of that 'je ne sais quoi' from a different era with its uniform Haussmannien buildings, but Parisians are not as friendly as Montrealers"...and the list goes on. I have yet to live in a place that embodies all my ideas of perfection. What I have taken from each country I have lived in is the liberty to juxtapose the idiosyncrasies I find in its cities, people, and culture with those I have experienced in another, without being partial to either but admiring them all. That also explains what ĂȘtre tiguidou is about. I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I take pleasure in writing each post and I look forward to reading any comments you might wish to put up.
