Glamour Gut

Food and fashion: polarizing objects yet they have so much in common. I am in love with both, as should be everyone...or at least in my mind.

Growing up in the suburbs of Washington, DC is where my food passion began. It came naturally, ingrained into my DNA while I was in my Vietnamese mother's womb. Abalone was what I craved during my incubation. Fast forward to age four where my afternoons were occupied with WETA episodes of Yan Can Cook, Jacques and Julia and Lidia's Italian Kitchen. With the development of the Food Network my foodie fate was sealed.

Fashion came later. My undergraduate years at the College of Charleston I dabbled in modeling, absorbing the passion for clothes and all things beautiful from those with whom I worked. That dabbling has now turned into a part-time modeling career in DC and Charleston.

So what is a girl to do when her heart is in her stomach yet that stomach is suppose to mirror the plains of Kansas? Have it all. Enjoy life's culinary gifts. Discover the glamour in the most interesting of places. Find the balance.
