My husband and I live in a 200 year old farmhouse on 10 acres in the Blue Ridge mountains with four chickens, two kids and a large, organic no-till garden. I have spent my career working to permanently protect land from development and promote smart growth concepts, and my personal life amassing an interesting and eclectic knowledge base ranging from how to clip a chicken’s wings to how to make the original Power Bar--Native American pemmican. I have a M.S. in natural resources from the University of Vermont, and a B.A. in geology from Yale.
