NOTE:Position: Senior Researcher, ISMC/Associate Professor, Copenhagen University      Title:	   PT, DSc, PhD, MSc  Phone:	   +45 3531 2710  Email:	   henninglangberg@gmail.com                                                                                                       Research focus The overall focus of our research is to understand the mechanism behind the adaptation of human tendons to changes in load.   In studies on in-vivo human tendons we have shown that several growth factors are released in response to physical activity and that load leads to increased collagen synthesis in human connective tissue. This relationship will be further investigated. A better understanding of the link between growth factor release and collagen adaptation would be valuable in as diverse situations as rehabilitation and training, immobilization and inactivity allowing more optimal rehabilitation of patients with tendon problems.   Publications - PubMed Doctoral thesis: "Response of tendon associated connective tissue to mechanical loading in humans" 2007  PhD thesis: "The human Achilles tendon – circulatory and metabolic changes with exercise" 2000
