NOTE:Been fighting for the wolf for over 40 years. My best friend was a Timber Wolf. He was originally confiscated jumping from rooftop to rooftop in NYC. Some egotistical maniac got him from the wilds and decided to keep him. Anyhow, he was captured from the rooftops by En Con in Albany, NY, brought out to 5 Rivers, div. of EnCon in Delmar, NY...where I got to know him. Turned out EnCon wanted to put him down as a lesson to all...do not own a wolf. So he was supposed to die because of mankind. (Sound familiar?) I found a good friend in upstate NY. A Sr. Wildlife Technician. We fought the town, the city, the county, the state, and the Federal Government. We won. My best friend Thor ended up in Winston OR where a beautiful wolf compound was built for him. Running stream, trees, grass, den, boulders. It was designed by a wolf specialist and with many contributions and volunteers and donated materials, Thor had a beautiful home....and ended up with a mate, Nahani who was brought in from the zoo in San Diego where she was being picked on. Thor had been neutered, but he lived a good life. He died when he was 17. I will always miss my best friend Thor.
