I'm a mother of four beautiful children and work as a psychologist. I'm interested in the way compassion flows within and between the spaces of our lives and our relationships; and I'm also interested in how compassion can transform suffering. Compassion is not a luxury but a necessity to sustain human life. My blog, Compassionate-Flow, has many themes. I like to think unpacking compassion is at the centre.
Other themes - creativity, openness, mindfulness, psychology, art, spirituality, imagination, nature, feminism, love, emerging art and willingness - are all part of my blog.
I keep myself sane with creative writing, mostly at the kitchen table. I completed a Masters of Creative Writing, I can't remember when. If I can publish something I might do a Phd in Writing. I also love to paint - and when I feel guilty, my children, now aged 8 - 18, tell me they would prefer a messy house with a mother who writes poems, stories and paints crazy pictures.
I worry about people in this world not having clean drinking water ... and I worry about the plight of women and children on this earth ... I read and think about this a lot ...
This is my third year in private psychology practice after at least 20 years working with people with all sorts of stories to share. I'm kept busy in my rooms in Wollongong. See www.liferesolutionswollongong.com.au if you would like to know more about my practice. My blog Compassionate Flow is at http://compassionate-flow.com/
