My unique background in marketing, banking and small business has honed my business and interpersonal skills, which are invaluable in helping people sell their homes and find the right homes for their families. My interest in real estate grew out of my experience working with both real estate law and mortgage banking as well as designing and building two personal homes. I have also been involved in selecting home plans and lots in subdivisions under development.
A native Georgian, I graduated from the University of Georgia with honors with undergraduate and graduate degrees in special education and later earned an M.B.A. in finance from Georgia State University. After ten years teaching special needs children, I discovered my love of business while working with a real estate attorney. Segueing into the world of banking, I quickly developed my career and became Vice President of Planning and Development for a community bank, then Executive Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications for Georgia’s second largest mortgage lender. I have started and run a small business and helped launch a nationwide career ministry for churches. I have always been active in my church and community, often holding leadership positions. I am a graduate of both Leadership Atlanta and Leadership DeKalb.
In order to stay current in the ever-changing real estate market, I continually take additional courses. I have earned the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) professional designation, e-Pro designation as an internet specialist, Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) certification and am a Certified Relocation Specialist. I have taken additional training in housing issues such as negotiating, moisture and mold, stucco, wood infesting organisms, home construction, home inspections, luxury home marketing, new home sales and more. I am a member of the National Association of REALTORS, Georgia Association of REALTORS, Atlanta Board of REALTORS, Council of Residential Specialists and REBAC.
I have lived in the northern Atlanta suburbs for many years with my husband, Dan. We have two married daughters and three adorable grandchildren. In my “leisure time” I enjoy traveling, reading, entertaining, and spending time with family.
