Born in Rio de Janeiro, with a certification by SENAI in graphic design, Julio Zartos has worked as an illustrator since 1982. he started working at SALLES, MPM and DPZ. As of 1989 he has become a free lancer.
in 1990, as a Plastic Artist, he participated in several collective expositions in Brazil.
In 1994, he exposed his art work in Frankfurt, Germany in the Brasilien, Drei Junge Generationen.
in 1996, he has migrated to computer graphics. As an illustrator, besides working in many awarded campaigns (Lâmpada ABP, New York Festival, London International Awards and Melhor do Rio – CCRJ), he had his art work published in the ARCHIVE Magazine.
In the film industry, in 1998, he produced illustrations for "Senta A Pua" documentary film, by Éric Castro.
At the end of 2001, he incorporated image treatment to his expertise while working for some photographic studios.
From 2004 to 2007 he owned an image treatment and photography studio, CASA 13.
As of 2008, he worked as a collaborator at FILET COM FRITAS, a studio for image treatment, adding a lot to his expertise in hyperrealism.
In the following year, he started working as a free lancer collaborator in a partnership with NUTSLOCOMOTYVA Studio, as an illustrator.
As of 2011, he started collaborating with ROCCO, a famous editing company in Brazil, as a free lancer in the production of several book covers.
In 2012, through the BSB Cinema Studio, he made several illustrations for the new film by Éric de Castro. The documentary, BRAZIL IN THE BATTLE OF THE ATLANTIC (Not yet officially released).
From 2012 to 2013, he has worked in the Creation and production of several characters for the game Legend of the Cryptids by Applibot - still awaiting for the authorisation to disclose the illustrations in the portfolio.
