Kristin Anderson

Los Angeles California

I was born in Connecticut. The town I grew up in was beachy and woodsy, winters were fun with lots of snow for sledding and ponds frozen over for skating, summers were spent at the beach combing the sandbars for anything interesting. I have a love for seagulls. I have a seagull tattoo. My dad used to play the LP “Johnathan Livingston Seagull” when I was little. My mom made cookies in any shape we liked.

The first camera I used was my parents Minolta 35 SLR. I took pictures of my brothers dressed up like “The Cure”. I later dated a photographer who showed me how to frame an image. We are still friends. I became a make up artist and a manicurist to the stars and traveled the world on really cool photo shoots for VOGUE, GLAMOUR, VANITY FAIR and such. Working with legendary photographers like Irving Penn and Ellen Von Unwerth gave me a desire to go back to the camera.

I have a love for picture scrap books, although I no longer have time to make them. I love film but I shoot digital. I try to get it to look like film sometimes. I love coffee table books. I made a coffee table book about my morning coffee. I do NOT have a coffee tattoo.

I love movies, but thrive in reality. Life is so interesting and constantly changing. Challenging. Emotional. Evolving. Fluid. My goal is to capture that raw life in an image to last you forever. So you can look back and remember the emotion. Preserve a moment of your evolution. Of our evolution.
