I am a woman of a certain age, and as such have learned a thing or two, suffered a trauma or two and experienced a joy or two....or three...or four...
I find I am living in exciting times, and despite the uncertainty this can bring, the rewards are fascinating. Our world has changed so much in such a short space of time and the wonders of technology are racing ahead and I want to catch a ride and see what happens along the way. I love my iphone and my laptop and the internet is a very close friend.
I have many interests, foremost of which are my children and grandchildren, whose number has increased by two in just the last week.
Welcome little Max and Naeve, our two lovely little 'Dragons'.
I love to read, and to write. I love my garden, ramshackle as it is right now, and cooking. I am the proud owner of an Aga, which is possibly my favourite thing in the house. I make jams and chutneys and generally enjoy experimenting with it, having had to learn a new way of cooking. My husband has never been so well fed....well, allowing for the occasional disaster, of course. It hasn't all been plain sailing.
I occasionally get out my drawing pens and, well, draw. Animals and buildings mainly, but after a bad experience a few years ago, in which I got my fingers badly burned, followed by personal loss, I do very little of that these days, preferring to concentrate on my writing. But you never know, I might even try to illustrate my book. We shall see.
I love to travel and I love to be at home. I enjoy snuggling up with a good book and a cup of tea, and I like Pinot Grigio and a plate of pasta. These days I prefer the peace of the countryside to the bustle of a city - must be something to do with me age. I like all sorts of music from Faure to Florence so there is something for every mood.
Generally, life is pretty good, but an occasional horror can be thrown in to keep us on our toes and teach us compassion and kindness, empathy and how to love and hopefully, through whatever life throws at us, we will become better people. We can but try.
