<aboutMe>Born in Florida, raised in Florida. To this day, my childhood seems like a dream I had. I learned how to walk in Singapore and Thailand when my parents and older siblings were involved in missions with Youth with a Mission. I suppose this is one of the reasons why today I still have a heart for not only sharing the love of Jesus with people (especially children), but also for my sparked interest in other cultures (could this be why I am presently in Korea??). My parents are the best and I am so blessed to have been placed in their family. At the age of 12 I raised money to go on a mission trip to Jaurez, Mexico (with my mom and two other friends from church). Then, at the age of 14 I left the country all by my lonesome and went to the country of Panama with Teen Mania Ministries. That trip changed my life completely, maybe I will post about this trip later .

When I got home from Panama we moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where my “home” is now. However, currently my hubby and I are in Seoul, South Korea teaching English. I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte majoring in Elementary Education concentration in English and Communications. The day after graduation, I got married to my bestest friend .

After spending that summer working for an organization called, “Freedom School,” since I could not find a teaching job working full time during the summer, I accepted a position in sales with a base pay the same as a teacher’s with commission possibilities to be making $100k plus in the first 2 years.

Outside looking in, this seems stupid for me to have not stayed with it, but my heart is in making a difference. I was out of place with my child-like, peppy, and care-free personality who went to school to work with children. However, if anyone wants an awesome sales company to work for in Charlotte please contact me. That was an awesome company and the manager was a strong christian who really cared about his team and his product!

So, I accepted a 2nd grade teaching position in Charlotte a 3 minutes drive from my house (Hello? If you think God does not provide you better THINK again!) after the school year has already started. That year was very challenging, and wonderful at the same time! I was so happy to get a name badge that said, “Teacher” on it.

During this whole time, my newly-wed hubby was working crazy hours, and going out of town every 5 weeks for 2 weeks, and then randomly for 3,4 days on top of that. We soon realized that where he was working was not the place for him. Soon after that I (and many other 1st year teachers) was notified that I was going to be let go. Naturally, after crying many times, I began looking for other opportunities. I was so disgusted with the educational system in general that I thought, “Screw it, I like other countries anyway, I am going to look for a job NOT in America!” I thought this was just a little something for me to fantasize about but soon realized that my hubby could teach in a foreign country as well because he has a 4 year degree. Awesome! To make a long story short(er) we ended up choosing Korea and we are here today! During the process to get here we: garage saled, rented our house out, lived with my parents for a month, sold my car (with the promise I am getting an Audi TT when we get home!!), drank a lot, ate a lot, and I gained… wayyy too much weight!

I have always been interested in health and fitness. In Elementary School I was on an all boy’s soccer team. In middle school, I played basketball and Taekwondo. In high school, my brother and I used to bolder at Crowder’s Mountain. Back in 2008, I completed the Beachbody program, ChaLEAN Extreme. I got down to 127 at 5’3.5″. My goal weight is 115. After I completed the program I slowly started to gain the weight back. However, it wasn’t until this whole Korea stuff happened that my weight really started to go back up. I was stressed with no life that was consumed by teaching all day at school, and planning all night, and trying to get to Korea. This turned into stress eating (and drinking sometimes as well). By the time my hubby and I finally arrived in here, my weight had snuck up to 157 (?!?!). I was at 142 when I started ChaLEAN Extreme back in 2008. Since arriving in Korea I started watching what I ate, and started exercising. I started this at the end of September. It is now the end of November and I have lost 14 pounds. I am now at 143. This is great and all but I am determined to reach my goal before we go home!

I also decided to take it a step farther by becoming an Independent Beachbody Coach. I have no idea what is going to happen, but I have a desire to help people live better, healthier and more productive lives, and after doing quite a bit of research and having full support from the hubby, we are giving it a go. I will post a blog about the business opportunity, but if you work it, it will pay. If you don’t… well, I think you understand it will just sit there!

I have a passion for this amazing life that God has blessed me with. I want to be fit and healthy enough to enjoy it, and I want to help others do the same. Do you think God created this beautiful world for us to just sit inside all day on facebook or watching T.V? One of my goals is to be able to mountain bike all day without getting tired. I know it is far stretched, but I can enjoy more of God’s creation on a bike than on foot. I love the mountains, the seasons, the rain, the shine, the animals, and anything and everything that has to do with life! You only live once.

Just like money, lives are spent. What are you buying with yours?
