Nilofar Ansher is a writer, editor and researcher from India, focusing on accessibility and inclusion for persons with disabilities, swear culture in India, gender in museums and cultural spaces, and identity in online spaces. She recently earned her Masters of Arts in Ancient Indian Civilization, History and Culture from the University of Mumbai. Previously, she was the Community Manager for the ‘Digital Natives with a Cause?‘ project, a research initiative of the Centre for Internet & Society that looks at the changing dynamics of youth, technology and change in the Global South. Nilofar is still trying to figure out the most basic questions of life: what motivates people to get out of bed each day, how do we change the world, where do we go from here, and how does interspace travel work in Isaac Asimov’s fiction? In the mean time, she keeps busy with her communications job at a United Nations initiative that focuses on digital accessibility for persons with disabilities. Nilofar’s writings have appeared in Mid Day Metro, The Good Men Project, Quiet Mountain Essays, Careers360, Express Tribune, PC Tech Magazine, Bangalore Mirror, and DNA India. She lives in southern India and tweets as @culture_curate and @a11yinmuseums.
