We live deep in the Ozark Mountains where pavement is a good six miles away. It's pretty close to true wilderness. Nature is a large influence on my writing, and you'll see that the predator/prey relationship shows up quite often. Other frequent themes include the awakening of the divine feminine, goddess awareness, and deep relationships with Mother Earth. I believe in things unseen. I believe there are many more facets to the universe than what we ordinarily call 'real'. Right now I'm working on several projects, but the one with the highest priority is to finish editing my novel, Symbiosis. My plan is to seek traditional representation and publishing for it beginning early next year. While the manuscript is making its rounds with agents trying to find a home, I have another novel to begin. Plus I am continually producing short stories and working to get them published in magazines both online and in print. I'm very stubborn and I love a good challenge. Therefore, it sometimes takes a while before I can announce a new "Acceptance" because I like to try the most difficult markets first. Those are generally the ones that pay most, too, so why not start at the top? I'll end up in a place that reperesents the very best I could do at the given time for that particular story. If you see that I have a bloody forehead, just look away. It's because I haven't quit beating my head against the publishing wall yet. Aside from writing and photography, I like to dabble in web design (this website is a product of that obsession), ride horses, and grow organic food for our family. Besides being a writer, I'm also an herbalist, caretaker of the horses, dogs, chickens and cats, mother of three, and soon-to-be wife to the most awesome man I've ever met.
