I enjoy travelling to different places and learning as I go. I am currently in my 3rd year in a teacher education program and transferred to the University of Regina. I am continually learning my teaching philosophy as I understand and respect the importance of education. I am a second generation educated member, having grown up in the North and experience the effects of assimilation. I struggled in my own education, but continue to work towards something better. Each step has required a new understanding of western education and also keeping in connection with the education from our Inuit Elders and ancestors. I am growing and will be as patient with my own growth as I do not want to become discouraged to embrace learning. My dream is to work with troubled youth who have been misplaced in society and require the opportunity to be reintroduced through an accommodating and self respecting process. My area is informal learning, but I do understand the benefits of a system, but I am more intrigued by the informal education process. I will see where this takes me. Thanks for your interest.
