This will be my tenth year teaching at Holly Hill. I am excited about the upcoming adventures that await us this year. I received my BA in Early Childhood Education from Wilmington College and my MA in Special Education from Walden University.
I live in Batavia with my husband and two dogs, Caleb (Bichon) and Frosty (Bichon-Poo). I have a niece, Addyson and nephew, Cayden who are a lot of fun and I enjoy spending time with them.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling. The beach is my favorite place to vacation, especially along the gulf side. My future traveling plans are to go out west. I hope to visit the Grand Canyon one day.
My absolute favorite season is fall! I love watching the leaves transition into autumn colors. I love reading. When I read fiction, I enjoy realistic fiction, funny books, and books with complex plots. :)
For nonfiction, I love reading devotionals, biographies, American History, and of course, books about how to be the best teacher I can be:)
It's so exciting learning about my students' favorite genres! I also enjoy helping students pinpoint their favorites and that is one of my goals for each student by the end of the year--to know their favorite types of books AND authors:)
With every new school year I get "butterflies in my stomach" because I am so excited to begin a new year! I enjoy finding ways to inspire students to become life-long learners and believe every student who walks in my classroom is destined for greatness.
