Carly Swenson is a mixed media artist who was born and raised in Havre, Montana. She received her BFA from Bemidji State University in Minnesota. Her Fine Arts degree included a 2D emphasis with an Art History minor. During her time at university, she studied abroad on several occasions, traveling to various countries including China, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. These experiences of captivating cultures, remarkable architecture, extraordinary art and fascinating people as well as Swenson’s interest and love of Art History play a persistent role in her work. Currently, she is living and working on the Portuguese island of Terceira in the Azores. Living abroad is a fantastic experience. Before Terceira, she spent four years residing in England. Since childhood, Swenson has been creating some form of art. As an adult, she is no different.
