I cook, write, teach, think, and talk about food almost every waking hour. The cooking, thinking and talking about food have been going on since I was very small, the writing and teaching since the last century (1988 to be somewhat exact), and I can't seem to stop. Peace Corps days in Thailand opened the window wide on Asian cuisines. A North Carolina native who has been back in Piedmont NC for 10 years, I've been nurturing my Southern culinary connections as well. My passions: Traditional food and cooking, the people in the kitchen and their stories, the ingredients and cultural aspects behind everyday and celebration dishes.
