My entire life I have been fascinated by two things, science and food. One of these fascinations, science, is becoming a career while the other, food, has become a hobby. I grew up in northeastern Ohio, went to college at Miami University where I earned my bachelors degree studying Zoology and Neuroscience, then on to the University of Missouri where I earned my masters degree studying obesity and type 2 diabetes and how both are related to nutritional status and physical inactivity. I currently work as the research coordinator in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. However, I suspect my academic pursuits are not completed and will sometime soon return to school. I spend my free time running with my dog, spending time with friends, and enjoying good food, beer, and wine.
