I'm a "Ladytrucker" who enjoys sharing her adventures from the road.
I would like to raise the status of truck drivers, and hopefully
to educate the general public as to how to share the roads safely
with "the big rigs".
As a woman in a male dominated industry, I have faced much discrimination and a great deal of disrespect. I know that I am not alone with this troublesome issue, that other Ladytruckers
have their respective crosses to bear. One of my goals is to improve the working conditions for the women who help to "move America".
One way to do that, is to expose the real truths, and to educate
the public. The outrageous behaviors that are displayed in trucking, would not be tolerated in any other industry.
When I'm not trucking, my hobbies are crocheting, cats, and noodling around on a musical instrument. I've been known to
frighten away potential predators when I pick up my fiddle and start
sqwuaking away! lol! I also played the five string banjo for many years, along with the guitar and keyboards.
Back in the early 80's, I enjoyed performing and hosting my own popular cable TV show, which was known as "Christy's Rendezvous", and later simply, "Christy". It was broadcast in the Tri-State area, and in Sacremento, California. My biggest following came from the New York crowd, who would always watch my show before going out for the evening to see their favorite local bands.
One of my favorite quotes is: "I may not agree with what you say, but I fully support your right to say it". (Voltaire). So, if you yank my tail, I may or may not yank yours back. But, I value freedom of speech, and am dismayed at the direction our Country is going.
I can be very passionate about many different subjects and issues.
Animal rescue is just one of them. Please adopt a pet today!
I admit I am preferential to the feline persuasion. Cats are awesome
companions, just as loyal and smart as dogs, and are able to take care of themselves should you need to be away from home for the weekend. I think all women are "part cat". When a man loves cats and can figure one out, then he is well on his way to understanding
the two legged variety of "felines"! :)
I look forward to cyber friendship and exchanges of ideas. Welcome to my blog page!
