Nui and Dez Adventures

Boston, MA

I am the mom of two amazing rescue animals. Nui is a mutt (Mini American Eskimo and Wirehaired Jack Russell Terrier) that was found as a stray on the streets of Hartford, CT. He was brought to a shelter and was unclaimed, the day he was scheduled to be euthanized a wonderful woman took him in and fostered him until she could find him a home. I was lucky enough to be in touch with her through Petfinder.com since I was looking to give a home to a rescue doggy. I was a little skeptical from his description, but since I don't like to judge a book by its cover, I agreed to meet this dog in person....the rest is history. I fell in love...he has helped me through many difficult times and is my partner in crime. I could go on for pages about how awesome he is.....but you will soo see for yourself.
Hernandez (Dez) is my recent rabbit rescue from House Rabbit Network. He was left in a box outside a vet's office in the parking lot (nice huh?). Well I was just looking to foster, since I wanted to continue to help as many rabbits as possible. I recently lost my last rabbit (Killer) suddenly (she died at the vet during an exam unfortunetly they couldn't bring her back). After having Dez for a few days I knew I was going to become a foster failure, I couldn't bear to give him up.

The reason I started this blog is because I just felt the need to document and share this unusual animal relationship. Imagine a Terrier living with a rabbit as his buddy not his dinner. This is a great example of a dog not following his stereotype....if people would only follow this behavior the world would be a much better place.
