Enlisted USMC 1951 at 16, spent a year in combat in Korea, and the following decade seeing the world's exotic places, learning to fly and cruising. He received his AB degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Western Oregon University (1970). Twice married. First wife deceased. Current Wife, Christine; 4 daughters; all are independent, intelligent women.
