Welcome to Our Lady of Second Helpings.
I have been working on losing weight and becoming my best self for over three years. Together my husband and I have lost over 300 lbs and counting. I created Our Lady of Second Helpings to share my journey with others.
My journey to a healthy body is rooted in changing my eating habits a little bit at a time. I try to eat wholesome food that is full of flavor. I have never once felt like I was dieting while losing weight.
Most of the time I like recipes to be straight forward and easy to execute with a toddler underfoot. As my confidence in the kitchen grows I find myself experimenting with new foods and cooking techniques. I love puzzling out how to slim down traditionally heavy foods.
I hope to provide inspiration and motivation to people searching for ways to become healthier and happier in their own skin. My journey has been about finding balance and turning many small choices into a new lease on life.
