First let me say, thank you so much, for visiting my site and leaving all those wonderful comments. I have only been blogging a few days and I am overwhelmed.
I would say this much about my blog, that it is a depot and compilation from various sources, and some of my own personal write-ups of African History.
My blog has just about everything you can imagine from information on the kidnapping of human beings to become slaves, the Civil War and the freedom thereafter, and just about every entertainer there is and has ever been. I have compiled information about inventors, Civil Rights leaders, Activists, Artists, Doctors, Politicians, Lawyers and those with enormous talent. I would have to say that I have covered all subjects and will continue to do so with your support as a reader….your feedback on subjects that you would like to hear more about is so important to me.
First and foremost, I'm just going to get it off the table, I'm 100% Irish American. I say this because I will not apologize to nobody in this world for who I am, and I am so very proud of my heritage. But being 100% Irish America, doesn't mean that I never took any interest in other cultures. I need that to be said because I'm a straight shooter and can only hope we have come far enough where that doesn't make a difference. My hand in friendship is always extended to you. It’s all I can offer.
As you can see, I'm a liberal, far left thinker, and I have studied African American history independently since I was seven years old. I spent my time working in corporate before I became a Mom, so now that my kids are in school, I decided to pick up on the one area of history I love, African American History. African American history is to me, like a song that cries, a storybook, filled with all the tears and pain anyone could ever fathom, yet the spirit inside is so light, shiny and bright.
My belief is “Knowledge is Power”, and I always have had a thirst for the true story. In my view, African Americans have been stripped of their sense of heritage. I truly believe it is because despite many efforts, lack of facts and information pertaining to their contributions that these facts are not noted densely enough. I'm the first to admit that I am not an expert in this area, and don't claim to be. My goal is to compile African American history and facts through my blog and website which have been created to become a portal of information for all students and those with a desire to learn about their heritage.
I want this site to be adopted by the schools, recommended by teachers and read
