Adimu Mazwi was born November 6, 1987 to Michael Andre Johnson and Tonya Noel Thomas. He was raised in northwestern D.C. and southern Maryland. He graduated from a Prince George’s County Public High School with an average G.P.A. Raised by a single mother with his three siblings, he is the eldest of the four.
Writing has always been in the background of his life, it just took him a little while to make the discovery. His goals were always changing over the years; his newest career aspiration barely related to his previous choice. He finally concluded that he was really good at writing and composing poetry in his early twenties. He desires to experiment with his skill of writing in the field of journalism, playwriting and screenwriting in the near future.
In 2011, he published his first book entitled Muddy No Longer. He currently lives in southern Maryland preparing the release of his second self-published book, a collection of poetry, entitled My Heart Cracked Open and It Bled.
