Hey! I'm Elise.
I create because when I make something that I can see or hold in my hands and share with others it just makes me feel good.
When I was more of a kid than I am now, I didn't have the internet so instead I wrote stories that suspiciously mirrored what was going on in my life at that moment, a movie I'd recently watched, and sometimes they were completely works of my own imagination.
I made over 300 paper people from the time I was 9 to about 13. I loved making them, creating the facial expressions, the body styles, pairing up odd couples, and creating their kids. I guess it was my way of sorting through what was going on in the world around me.
I'm older now and not much has changed. I've never lost my desire to make things (especially drawings and sculptures of people). My artwork still reflects what is going on in my life, and my influences are ever changing.
