NOTE:Someone that refuses to sit on either side of the fence and do nothing about it. Mother, grandmother and human and civil rights advocate. A little about the writer I've loved writing since I was a little kid. Before I reached age 10, I knew I wanted to become a professional in the field. When i was around 12 years old, my uncle, an engineer at the printing press of a major newspaper, gave me a large set of type sets and all the gear I needed to print in a modest home-made press. As soon as I learned how to set it and got my first supplies, I made a four page newspaper that I distributed among my friends, neighbors and the near by establishments. I was encouraged to continue my work and soon after that, I was able to include advertising and comic strips. My paper became a 6 page, including paid advertizing of our local convenient store, pharmacy, supermarket, etc. That allowed me to keep up with the cost of printing it. The usual news were pertinent to my neighborhood and included many of the activities of my school, local sports and occasionally I delved into some of the news in the newspapers. I don't remember exactly for how long I did this but it was a long time. Then in my teens I contributed to a commercial magazine with reviews of children movies, music and whatever they would publish. Just about the time I reached 12 years old and before college graduation I became a writer for a TV show and later became a segment producer. This was for the #1 talk show on air. From there, my professional career as a writer grew and became an international correspondent for the same TV station, covered the political/social revolution in Nicaragua and the disturbed countries in Central America. And I was sent to cover other countries such as the US, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil among many others. As well, i worked at a newspaper, later for a TV News in Guatemala and I had my own Talk Radio Show. Then, invited by News provider in the US, I came here and I was given the opportunity to try becoming a Photo-Journalist (my beloved hobby since age 10) for a small Photonews agency in Washington D.C. That launched a successful career for me and up to date, I still cover several fields for the media but as well, started a commercial photography studio that allowed me to incur into several fields in the photography realm. When I came to the US (30 years ago) I spoke english but up to this point, I still lack of total command of the language. Therefore, don't be surprised that from time to time, too often for my preference, I made a few mistakes here and there. Same that I seem to be constantly correcting after I posted my last piece. So please forgive me if you read one of my blogs and it lacked the expected clarity of the case. Believe me, I try my very best but sometimes I realize my mistakes after my blog has been posted. The good news is that you don't have to pay to subscribe to them! The reason I've been blogging, instead of contributing to the media simply is, because after my long experience in the media, I realize that my interests overweight my wishes to become a pay writer. And if you read any of my blogs, you possibly noticed that my utmost interest is breaking the fallacies and myths that the media perpetrates for the sake of making sure, they have the income to pay their writers. Sadly, due to the allowed space in the written media, many things become heavily diluted, therefore some of the necessary data is missing. Not to mention the fact that in the political world, the media seems to sympathize more with certain candidates and not as much with the opponent. And frankly, I get quite frustrated when I read that contrary to what suppose to be, the media tends to put words in the mouth of their readers. Not the best option to create a responsible and unbiased train of thought. That is where I enter into the picture. My aim is to focus on the elements that can lead to clear and transparent thinking. I am not a partisan writer or supporter. What I am is: a writer that attempts to entice my rare readers to discern and learn about the important aspects of the responsibility of a citizen in a democratic society, the best interest for that society and every single individual. A nation in my view is about every single citizen, their well-being, lifestyle and preferences and those should be respected even if I disagree with them. However, everyone should be granted the very same constitutional rights and opportunities but sadly, we all know that many lack the voice to be heard. They are too busy trying to meet ends. I wish you enjoy my blogs as much as I enjoy writing them and that my thoughts entice to see these issues from a different place. That, whether you approve them or not, You are more than welcome to voice yourself with your comments. One of the ultimate facts of life is that: we don't really know what we are really thinking, until we talk about it. A thought coined by professor Timothy Leary. Thank you for visiting my pages!
