Rhode Island Coffee in Bolton has acquired a loyal following and become a strong community base. No matter which cloth they are cut from, each person has been welcomed and accepted with equal vigour. With a sundry of people come many experiences, stories, talents and knowledge to share. Each and every person has something valuable to contribute. This is a chance to have work read by experienced professionals, receive feedback and share creativity. The project aims to help people to improve their writing, get advice on getting published or simply share creative work. Summary: Initial aims of the project are as follow. To use writing as a tool to help individuals: strengthen notion of confidence, personal identity and value in the community; to improve language and literacy knowledge and skills; produce creative work for performance/exhibition/publication. Secondary aims: to encourage people to contribute to and attend community events; boost interest in attending FE or HE courses.
