My name is Julie Rasmussen and I am addicted to fashion.

I am the buyer for Roadkill Ranch and Boutique in Fullerton, California.

I have always been intrigued with fashion and design. Growing up in Anaheim, California, I was lucky to frequent the Magic Kingdom, where I was constantly inspired by over-the-top fantasy and amazing costumes and designs.

I started collecting Vogue magazines with my best friend April when I was twelve. During the summer months when all of the other kids were riding bikes and running through sprinklers, April and I would spend our days poring over the pages of Vogue. We analyzed every outfit, color combination, make-up technique and hair style there was. We were ready to take on the "Fashion World".

Fast forward to college.

I started my first business in college with my friend Kerry called, "Felicity Creations". We hand-painted on broken pieces of records and repurposed them into earrings. We then sold them to local boutiques and major accounts like Nordstrom and Judy's. We eventually parted our separate ways and I went to work for Nordstrom, where I basically grew up.

I wore many hats at Nordstrom, but my last business card read, "BP Dress and Accessory Buyer- Orange County Region". After my seven-year itch, I decided it was time to venture out on my own again.

My husband had a wholesale business making leather jewelry and we decided to open a vintage boutique in Orange, California, selling his leather goods along with hand-picked, vintage clothing and accessories for men and women. We opened the first Roadkill store in 1993, and relocated it to Fullerton, California in 1995, where it currently stands today.

The boutique has evolved over the years and is now stocked with new (vintage-inspired) merchandise and one-of-a-kind pieces. We expanded the store in 2009 taking over the 1,000 sq. ft. space next door and created a mecca for Rockabilly and Pin-Up lifestyle clients. We call this expansion "Roadkill Ranch".

I love fashion, art, and theater. I'm intrigued with film, and performance artists.

I let my imagination run away with me, I get lost in glitter (easily distracted by shiny objects) and I love unusual design concepts and anything vintage.

My mood can easily be lifted by a good Rolling Stones or Queen song, and I love fresh flowers on my night stand.

My favorite designers are Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfeld.

I believe in miracles and I believe that there is no such thing as coincidence.
