<aboutMe>An expat in Edinburgh, Allison spends her time figuring out how to not look and sound so obviously American. American in the sense that she grew up in Los Angeles, went to univeristy in Philadelphia and then decided it would be great to live in Rome for a while. Rome was the gateway drug of European-ness that incited the crazy and wacky notion that Edinburgh might be a good idea. It turned out to be an okay one. Collecting among other things; an MSc in the History of Art, a bizarre and unpredictable evolving manner of pronouncing words and a husband.

Being really cold is a popular pastime in Edinburgh. A lot of days are literally filled with this activity. There are also other things to do, like go to the various galleries, eat at phenomenal curry houses and avoid bagpipers. Oh, and write this blog.

Art enthusiasm is a tricky thing. Art should be funny, dirty, profound, awe-inspiring and sometimes unforgivably horrendous. Picking on the hilarity of art is pretty much the most fun thing ever. If you're an art geek and you liken going to a gallery as a 'fun time out' then this blog will be like reading your own thoughts. Or just the thoughts of someone a little more shamelessly dorky than you.</aboutMe>
