On December 4, 2011 I was received into the Orthodox Church in America by His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah. In all humility, I consider having received this incredibly beautiful, historic and challenging faith to be the most important and transforming event in my life. To have received the fullness of the Orthodox faith is a blessing beyond compare.
I'm a student, a sinner, and I hope to one day serve as a priest and a professor. I'm a junior at American University's School of Public Affairs and College of Arts and Sciences majoring in History with a minor in Law and Society. I am studying on exchange at the University of Edinburgh for the Spring 2012 term.
I worked this past summer as an undergraduate research assistant with a professor of British history, and as a research intern at Georgetown University's interfaith Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs.
I also hosted ATV's political news show "The Body Politic", which has morphed this past fall into "Capitol Politics" with co-hosts Anna Kark and Paul Bencivenga. I've enjoyed interviewing former ambassadors, professors of law and political science, members of Congress, and many DC political personalities.
