Sam Roderick Roxas-Chua grew up in Glendale, California. His creative writing bloomed after attending a Douglas Sadownick workshop in 1991. After hearing Oregon Poet Laureate Paulann Petersen speak at the Northwest Poets’ Concord in 2011, it was the last drop of courage he needed to share his writings to a bigger audience.
Since then, Sam has read for Isangmahal Arts Kollective, NW Poets Conclave and Word Lab in Manila, Philippines. He is published by Vena Cava, Word Lab, Mixer Publishing, Concord, PoetsWest, Paw Print Publishing, and is working on a chapbook, Fawn Language. He is a member of Red Sofa Poets and lives in Eugene, Oregon. He may be heard reading at: http://oregonpoeticvoices.org/poet/110/
