I'm an old hippie feminist radical leftie manic-depressive PTSD survivor (not victim) of incest. I'm married to a fellow activist named Lex, who's a pastor in the United Church of Christ here in Madison, WI. I'm the mother of a wildly talented, multi-faceted, beautiful Calfornian named Riley.
I'm one of those little straight girls who has always been welcome in the LGBTQ community and have been an ally since age 5, when my mom told me why Uncle John and Uncle Tony didn't bring girlfriends to our parties! I'm an activist who, while still living in my home state of NY, lobbied long and hard for marriage equality. By the time it was passed, we were in Wisconsin - Madison, the hotbed of union struggles. Activist heaven.
I believe that Jesus' commandment of LOVE is what Christians should be about, and that hate groups, homophobes, and armchair bigots should do back to their Bibles and do some serious thinking of how Jesus would feel about their actions, especially those taken in his name.
I don't think there is any one, true path to God and accept any faith or journey that springs from LOVE. This includes atheism. I invite any and ALL comments on my blog, especially from folks who catch typos or have alternative views to points I make. I do not sanitize or edit comments; however, if it's all hate speech, I will respond personally to the writer and either delete or rebut the comment.
I hate war but support the troops. I want them home YESTERDAY.
