Sherri Fisher is the Visual Arts Department Chair at Patapsco High School & Center for the Arts in Baltimore County, MD, USA. During her nine years of teaching she has been commended on her teaching at both the district and state levels and Patapsco has been named by the Kennedy Center and the College Board for excellence in arts integration. She holds a BFA in sculpture and performance art from Purchase College SUNY and a Masters in Art & Art Education from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Sherri serves as the Eastern Region Secondary Representative for the National Art Education Association and has presented at many national conferences on aesthetic values of high school students as well as on classroom culture. Her most recent publication was an article on these topics published by Columbia Teachers College Press. In 2011 Sherri traveled extensively throughout Peru as part of a Fulbright-Hays GPA sponsored by Morgan State University. She is currently in Finland with Aalto University as part of the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program to conduct arts based research on classroom culture.
