I am the Director of Martin County Suicide Support. I am a survivor of bereavement do to my Mother's and Aunt's Suicides. I am a firm believer that Suicide is a disease just like any other disease.You would not talk about somebody who had Cancer and lost their lives to that disease, nor somebody who had Diabetes and lost their lives to that Disease. So why then is Suicide looked upon so differently? It is the reaction to a Disease of the Brain. And it is time to come out of the darl and into the light about this Disease. SUICIDE, say it...It is not a "BAD" word. It is just a dreaded word such as "Cancer" "Heart Problems" or any other Disease. So my objective is to get people to listen and learn to respond, and try to prevent the outcome of The "Disease of the Brain." And what causes can attribute to causing anyone with this illness to take that final step past no return. This is everyones's responsibility not one person or family is immune to this Disease, Not One..
