I write. I travel. I eat a lot. This sounds like the opening to Anthony Bourdain except this blog is from the point of view of a 25 year old woman. My food blog, The F Word is a mix of restaurant reviews, non-recipes (since I'm not one for following recipes) and everyday observations about the joy of food and eating. I'm not a vegetarian, but I don't eat meat. I do eat fish. Webster's says that makes me a pescetarian, but my computer's spellcheck still hasn't accepted it as a real word, so I hate using the word.
I love cooking and eating food from around the world, so I'm very excited to travel to South Africa this May. I'll be volunteering at a cheetah rehabilitation for one week, then spending a few days in Port Elizabeth and possibly a few other cities along the coast. I've been dreaming of visiting Africa and going on safari since I was very young, so I chose to document the experience on my second blog, Viva L'Afrique! I can't wait to come back with so many fantastic pictures to share, but until then, I'll be writing about all the planning, anxiety and wonder that goes into planning the trip of a lifetime.
